Privacy Policy

 

This Privacy Policy explains how Knowers Ltd. (“Knowers,” or “us,” “our,” “we”) collects and uses data. If not otherwise defined herein, capitalized terms have the definitions given to them in our Terms of Service, available at www.knowers.io (the “Terms”).

 

Knowers respects your right to privacy, and your ability to make informed choices about the uses of your information is important to us. This section explains our policy on how we collect, use, and store information and data that we receive.

 

Information We Collect

 

In order to use our Platform and/or Services, you will be required to register and provide us with Personal Information (as defined below). We collect Personal Information when you make use of the Platform and/or Services or contact us for any other reason. “Personal Information” means information that can be directly associated with a specific person such as a name, telephone number, e-mail address, and activities directly linked to a person. Additionally, where applicable, information you upload about yourself, information transferred or uploaded through a Chat, any User Content, and any other information uploaded to your account and shared in your account. If you use the Services by logging in through Facebook and/or any other third party, we may also receive Personal Information about you as provided by Facebook and/or such third party. Please check Facebook's and/or the relevant third party's policies in order to understand what information we receive. It is your voluntary decision whether to provide us with any such Personal Information, but if you refuse to provide such information we may not be able to register you to the Platform and/or provide you with Services.

 

We also collect certain information that is not or may not be considered Personal Information, such as your browsing history. In addition, when you use the Platform, certain information may be automatically gathered about your computer, mobile device, operating system, and IP address, including your (geo) location.

 

How We Use Information

 

We may use all the information we receive from you for any of the following purposes:  (1) to help us operate, provide, and improve our Platform and Services; (2) to respond to your inquiries or requests, contact and communicate with you, and provide notification (including regarding the Platform and Services); (3) to develop new products or services and conduct analyses to improve our current content, products, and Services; (4) to provide you with customized Content, targeted offers, and advertising on the Platform, on other third-party sites or apps you may visit, or via e-mail; (5) to contact you with informational newsletters and promotional materials relating to our Platform and Services; (6) to review the usage and operations of our Platform and Services; (7) to use your data in an aggregated, non-specific format for analytical purposes (as detailed below); and (8) to prevent fraud, protect the security of our Platform and Services, and address any problems with the Platform and/or Services.

 

By analyzing all information we receive, including all information concerning Users, we may compile statistical information across a variety of platforms and Users (“Statistical Information”). Statistical Information helps understand trends and customer needs so that new products and services can be considered and so existing products and services can be tailored to customer desires. Statistical Information is anonymous and we will not link Statistical Information to any Personal Information. We may share such Statistical Information with our partners, without restriction, on commercial terms that we can determine at our sole discretion.

 

Furthermore, we may provide non-Personal Information that we receive to Google Analytics and/or other marketing tools in order to receive an analysis of the use of our Platform. Google Analytics collects information such as how often Users visit the Platform and/or Services, what pages they visit when they do so, and what other websites and/or applications they used prior to coming to ours. Google Analytics collects only the IP address and/or device identifier, as applicable, assigned to you on the date you visit the Platform or Services, rather than your name or other identifying information. We do not combine the information collected through the use of Google Analytics with Personal Information. We use the information we get from Google Analytics only to improve our Platform and Services. Google's ability to use and share information collected by Google Analytics about your visits to the Platform or Services is restricted by the Google Analytics Terms of Use located at http://www.google.com/analytics/terms/us.html and the Google Privacy Policy located at http://www.google.com/policies/privacy/.

 

Disclosure of Information

 

Except as expressly set forth herein, we will not share your Personal Information with third parties without your explicit permission, except when required by law, regulation, subpoena, court order or other law enforcement related issues, as specified below. We will keep Personal Information long as it remains necessary to provide you with access to and use of the Platform and Services, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. We may share your information, including Personal Information, as follows:

 

Business Partners, Service Providers, Affiliates, and Subcontractors

We may disclose information, including Personal Information we collect from and/or about you, including your purchase and order history, to our trusted service providers, business partners, affiliates, and subcontractors, who may use such information to: (1) help us provide you with services; (2) aid in their understanding of how users are using our Platform and Services.

 

All third party service providers and subcontractors will be subject to non-disclosure and non-use obligations. Nevertheless, some countries may have levels of protection of personal and other information which are not as high as in your country of residence or business.

 

Business Transfers

We may transfer our databases containing your Personal Information if we sell our business or any part of it.

 

Law Enforcement related disclosure

We will fully cooperate with any law enforcement authorities requesting or directing us to disclose the identity, behavior, and/or User Content, Personal Information, or any other type of information concerning any User suspected of having engaged in unlawful activities or infringing behavior. We may also share your Personal Information with third parties if we believe in good faith that disclosure is appropriate to protect our rights, property, or safety (including the enforcement of the Privacy Policy), or to protect the rights, property, or safety of third parties. How we Protect Information

 

We make efforts to follow generally accepted industry standards to protect the Personal Information submitted to us, both during transmission and once we receive it. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. Therefore, while we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your Personal Information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

 

We will delete information provided to us by a User within a reasonable time from the receipt of a written request, which may be sent to support@knowers.io, by such User to delete its account provided, however, that we may retain a copy of certain information for audit and record-keeping purposes. We cannot restore information once it has been deleted.

 

Feedback

 

When you provide feedback in respect of the Platform and/or Services, please remember that any information disclosed on the Platform may be automatically made public, and such information will not be considered Personal Information by Knowers. You should exercise caution when disclosing any information (including Personal Information) in such a venue, as you do not know who will access or use such information and for what purposes.

 

Third Party Applications and Services

 

Aspects of the Platform or Service may involve linking to or using web applications, sites, or services belonging to third parties. Knowers, as well as other Users, may also provide you with links to access the applications and/or sites of third party vendors, retailers, or other service providers. We have no control over third-party applications, sites, or services, and all access and use of third-party applications, sites, or services is at your own risk. Additionally, Knowers cannot accept responsibility for any payments processed or submitted through such third party applications, sites and/or services, or for the privacy policies of any such applications, sites and/or services. Knowers is not responsible for content available by means of such applications, sites and/or services. Knowers does not endorse any products offered by third parties and we urge our users to exercise caution in using third-party applications, sites and/or services.

 

Communications

 

We may send you e-mail or other messages and/or a newsletter about us or our Platform and Services. By accepting the Terms (including the terms of this Privacy Policy which are incorporated therein) or using the Platform and/or Services, you affirmatively consent to receive such commercial messages. As a registered member, you can remove your Personal Information from our mailing list and stop receiving future communication from us by emailing us at support@knowers.io. In addition, we reserve the right to send you service-related communications, including service announcements and administrative messages, relating either to your account or to your use of the Platform and/or Services, without offering you the opportunity to opt out of receiving them. Should you not wish to receive such communications you may cancel your account.

 

Children

 

Knowers does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13. In the event you become aware that an individual under the age of 13 has enrolled without parental permission, please advise us immediately.

 

Changes

 

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time and at our sole discretion, and therefore encourage you to review it periodically. By continuing to access or use the Platform and/or Services after any changes to this policy become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised privacy policy.
